My Project
A growing tradition in my classroom is the soil and hydroponics unit that takes place throughout the year. These labs are run simultaneously so students can experience the difference between growing plants in soil vs a water medium.
These projects require many items such as soil, seeds and hydroponic pods for students.
Having these hands on projects in my classroom allows my students to fully immerse themselves in the learning. My students love coming into the classroom each day and having something that they can take care of while learning about a necessary and important skill of learning to grow our own food.
It has been such a joy to run this project and to support new students in their understanding of plants and the factors necessary to make a successful garden.
