This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I would love to expand our classroom library. All of my students are bilingual and having a wide selection of books in both Spanish and English is essential to support their language development and foster a love of reading. Currently my collection of Spanish books is extremely limited and I believe that increasing the availability of Spanish-language literature will allow my students to further develop their literacy skills in both languages. It will also provide them with the opportunity to connect more deeply with their cultural backgrounds, which is an important aspect of their education.

This investment will directly benefit my students by allowing them to explore a diverse range of topics, genres, and authors in their native language.
