My Project
I have always had a great group of students, no matter where I am teaching in our district. As a special education teacher, I get the joy of seeing aha moments from diverse learners come to life in reading, writing, math, and social-emotional learning. There is simply no one day that is the same.
Through my years of teaching, I have always sought to know more about diverse populations and how they are supported in inclusive classrooms.
I am one year away from completing my doctorate, focusing on early literacy interventions. I am designing an intervention to support students with disabilities in inclusive classrooms. But I realize there are several books that I am in need of to get the job done.
This project will assist me with the tools to become a conscious leader while working with principals and teachers in my district to design a coteaching model suitable for inclusion classrooms. When engaging in leadership discussion, books such as Difficult Conversations: What Matters Most, The Four Agreements and The Bumpy Road to Collaboration will provide us with the tools for grounding our work while managing emotions.
I am almost at the end of my journey and could use a little nudge to complete my chapter on Interventions and the Theory of Action!
