My students need 18 books to help build our classroom library in our classroom. My students enjoy reading books in my class and I want to encourage my students to continue to read.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As a teacher in a community faced with high poverty and socioeconomic difficulties, my students are faced with a variety of challenges each day both in and out of the classroom. Despite the challenges, my students are curious and filled with imagination, open hearts, and minds. Our school is Title I, which supports free breakfast and lunch provided to students at the school. I must make their school experience meaningful.
I aim to provide my students with creative and positive learning experiences that will foster their curiosity.
It is my job as an educator to allow their curiosity to expand and their skills to develop and grow while keeping them inspired to learn.
My Project
The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students will help each of my students build their reading comprehension and encourage reading. My school is a title one school which means many of my students do not have the resources to buy their own personal books to read at home. My students will be allowed to check them out from our classroom and take the books home to read. The stools I am requesting will be used for flexible seating in the library area of our classroom. My students enjoy reading around my classroom, the stools will help my students get comfortable when reading a book.
I will use the materials on my listen to encourage the importance of reading and promote creativity when reading a book.
The quote I posted in my classroom to promote reading is, "A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies...The man who never reads lives only one." (George R.R. Martin).
