I have an eager group of 85 students in my history and science class. My students are very diverse in their culture and their learning styles. We would like to change up the classroom to make it more conducive for collaboration and team work.
History class is all about collaboration and working with others to answer questions about the past.
These tables will help my classroom change into an environment where collaboration, team building, and problem solving are encouraged.
In addition to this, the podiums will help my students who find it difficult to sit for an entire 90 minute class to have a place to retreat and stand up to complete tasks. The Seat Sacks will be for the individual desks which will be options for students who do not like to be surrounded by people or to work in groups. In this classroom set up, all of my students' needs will be met.
My Project
These items will help my students to succeed at their own level. I will have a combined classroom set up with areas for collaboration and team work. The tables will replace my desks which get moved around and can't be turned around to face the board. I will have these tables and rolling chairs which will benefit my students in the class. I will also have two stand-up work stations for my energetic students to have a place to do their work and not have to feel confined to a chair for the 90 minute period. The Seat Sacks will be for the individual seats in my classroom where students who do not like to participate in group activities can sit and not have to get up to get colored pencils and other art supplies that may be needed for the class.
