Every day, my students come into the classroom excited and ready to learn. They know that each day is a new adventure in the classroom and are excited to see where the lesson will take them.
Our school and the surrounding community are like a big family.
The students attend the same school from preschool through 12th grade so we become very close as a learning community. I love getting to not only have students in my class for a year, but to also be able to watch them grow and learn until they graduate. It is this tight-knit community that inspires everyone at our school to be the best they can be in and out of the classroom.
My Project
These materials will be used in a variety of ways in my classroom. They will be used as mentor text to help my students develop a growth mindset and positive character traits that they can use for the rest of their lives. The books My Mouth is A Volcano and The Recess Queen will help my students learn about waiting until an appropriate time to talk and how to not be a bully. The books Your Fantastic Elastic Brain: Stretch It, Shape It and But It's Not My Fault! (Responsible Me!) will help my students learn to take responsibility for their actions and the consequences ,as well as, learning to never give up.
These books will be very useful in helping shape responsible, respectful, and safe citizens.
They will also help them learn the value of mistakes and how you can accomplish anything you want as long as you never stop trying.
