My Project

In our modern world, with technology, metal, and concrete all around, it can be easy to lose touch with nature, with the green parts of the world around us. But that connection is vital, both for each and every human and for keeping this planet we all depend on healthy. If we don't love it, if we don't understand it, there's not much incentive to maintain it, to keep our world vibrant and clean.

For this Earth Day I want to add these books that teach about our wild places, our varied environments and weird animals and infinitely useful plants, to my middle school library.

Kids are curious about so much at this age, but are also busy deciding what will be important to them, what they will focus their attention on and try to achieve. Books like these are essential for growing a sense of wonder and appreciation for the natural world, igniting curiosity and a sense of responsibility for the varied landscapes around us and their future.

If you donate to my project you'll be helping to instill them with not just knowledge, but a deep rooted love and connection to this planet we all call home.
