This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach in a charter school in Ohio. My students are an amazing group of kids. They are an active bunch, but always ready to learn. Help give them the best opportunity to learn each day.

Many of my students don't have regular access to technology.

They are amazing children with a passion for learning. Even while we are away from each other and they are learning at home we get together three times a day to discuss what we are reviewing.

I want all of my students to succeed, and be able to accomplish everything they know they can.

My Project

With schools shut down for the year my students are missing their hands-on project based learning unit. Being able to get these indoor garden sets would be amazing because we would still be able to complete a hands-on learning project.

Hands-on learning is so important to kids.

Many of my students learn best by doing. Being able to get these indoor gardens into their hands would keep them learning for the rest of the school year and into the summer.

The school district I'm in is right outside of Cleveland and many of my students don't have the ability to grow plants in their backyard like other schools. Having the ability to grow these gardens will give my students a sense of ownership in what they are learning.
