Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are mostly Spanish speakers who are emergent bilinguals, learning their 2nd (sometimes third) language. In my classroom we are working on building students' literacy level in their first language of Spanish. Part of doing this in addition to reading class novels is to have students choose independent reading books that they can read as part of our classroom routine. I´ve been slowly building my classroom and have a growing number of titles.

This project will help build us our Spanish language classroom library!

The titles on this list are in high demand and are very popular among their peers, further helping our newcomer students to have common ground with their peers.
