This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In a middle school, reading far below grade level can be discouraging and difficult. The classroom libraries throughout a middle school are full of higher level texts. My students are reading on a Kindergarten-Second grade equivalent. We need to build our library full of books they can read and explore.
In order to build lifelong readers, one must provide a library full of high interest-low level texts.
To best meet grade level expectations, students need access to texts at their independent and instruction levels. Your donation can greatly impact the reading needs of my classroom.
