My Project

Many children today need social skills lessons and the tools to help them learn how to respond positively and cope when conflict arises in their lives. We teach our students the 7 habits of highly successful students through mini-skills lessons. This is done through modeling, re-teaching and practice. We consider these skills invaluable as they can absolutely used into adulthood. As students learn and practice these social skills, we recognize and reward them for their actions with a ticket. The tickets are put in a container in the room and each week a leader ticket from the classroom is drawn. The school then honors this student by announcing their names over the school PA system as well as taking a group picture that is displayed in the media for all school stakeholders to witness our leaders. Individual picture are also posted on FB for families to celebrate along with us. These measures enable all school community members to celebrate these students' good choices. We also like to reward students with fun tokens like bouncy balls, scented pencils, fun mini erasers, slap bracelets and scented pencils, animal pencils that can serve as a reminder for the good choices they have made to become the leaders in our school.
