it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The FCA baseball team is experiencing significant growth as the roster now boasts nearly 30 players, reflecting the team's increasing popularity and success. A notable factor contributing to this expansion is the arrival of new students to Chicago from various countries, particularly Venezuela, where baseball is deeply ingrained in the culture. These enthusiastic newcomers are eager to join the team and contribute their skills to the sport. Additionally, the program's influence is extending beyond just new immigrants, as local kids from the community are expressing a growing interest in joining the team, fostering a sense of unity and camaraderie.
As our baseball program continues to flourish, the need for additional equipment becomes imperative.
The influx of players, especially those new to the country, necessitates an expansion in our inventory to ensure that everyone has access to the necessary gear. Here are some of the items that we are requesting:
Batting cage and cables - Indoor hitting during the winter and early spring.
Power alley balls - soft indoor balls that won't damage our indoor practice facilities.
Gloves, cups, and cleats - We have two new players from the Dominican Republic who don't have these items.
Winter jackets - We put in an order for winter jackets and five players didn't get one.
