My students need a greenhouse to replace the one lost in a storm.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. L.'s classroom raised $432

My Students
The community has a rich agricultural history that is slowly slipping away as more land is converted to housing and retail areas. There is a push among many to preserve this land and continue the tradition of growing crops for sustenance. In recent years, student-led activism led to the development of a school garden that offers GMO-free lunch options. Many students are disconnected as to where food comes from and why sustainable agriculture is a necessity to our survival. A push for eating local and reducing our global footprint is developing across the community and school.
My Project
Our school's greenhouse was destroyed in a recent wind storm. The students are upset and asked about a replacement, but it isn't in the budget.
The greenhouse allows students to learn from the start where food comes from.
They grow vegetables and flowers and in the process, create a connection between what they eat and what it takes to produce it.
The vegetable and flower plants are sold to the staff and public to recoup funds to allow the process to continue. Many staff were thrilled to buy their vegetable seedlings from the students last year and we would love to continue this for years to come.
