This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In our kindergarten classroom, curiosity blooms daily—and nothing sparks wonder quite like the natural world! To nurture our students’ understanding of nature and the environment, we’re seeking support to bring hands-on science tools and engaging books into our classroom.

With a caterpillar-to-butterfly kit, our young scientists will witness the magic of metamorphosis, learning firsthand about life cycles and the importance of protecting natural habitats.

Nature-themed books about plants, ecosystems, and environmental care will build their vocabulary and inspire compassion for the Earth. Additionally, balance scales will support early experiments as we explore plant growth, recycling, and how our actions can impact the world around us.

These tools will not only foster scientific thinking and environmental awareness, but also empower our students to become thoughtful stewards of our planet—starting with their own classroom and community.
