My Project

Students learn through their experiences and hands-on activities. So why not give them more opportunities to engage in science activities with project-based learning as a context for learning? My students are waiting to have that opportunity!

The purpose of "Growing Green as We Honor the Earth: STEM" is to provide an innovative learning experience to help elicit excitement in science.

Most children love science. However, minimal resources at the elementary level help refine and cultivate a student's scientific mindset. The "Growing Green as We Honor the Earth: STEM" is designed to bring unique educational experiences with hands-on, interactive activities. The students focus on various scientific concepts such as the life cycle and hydroponic growth. In honor of Earth Day, “ Growing Green as We Honor the Earth: STEM” allows students the opportunity to connect with their parents and families by sharing the grown vegetables and herbs as well as their learning experiences.

The donations will provide my students with activities and experiments that will help make real-life connections and enhance project-based learning.

The hydroponic system and seeds will allow my students to view the life cycle of plants. The hydroponic growing system will also teach the children about making healthy food choices in which they will share the information with their families.

The activities also provide a fun, engaging way to comprehend science concepts as well as celebrate Earth Day. These activities and experiments will change my students' lives and will create lifelong educational memories.
