This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
A hydroponic plant tower, aero garden planter, plant food and seed pods to grow food in any weather and keep an closer eye on it in the classroom is just what my ENL students need to learn all about the plant cycle and growing our own food.
This project will bring science and math concepts close to home and allow students to plan, care for and utilize the results of what they have grown themselves.
Students will be able to observe and write about the changes each day and finally taste the food when it is done growing.
My students are kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd-grade students! They are both general education and special education students, and they are made up of English Language Learners and students whose first language is English.
My students have me for 45-minute computer science and/or character ed class, at least once per week.
My students are eager to learn and are making progress each week. In character education class I serve as a mentor to these fully remote scholars and our lessons are focused around diverse books.
The students are highly motivated by hands-on activities and project-based learning.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
