Growing Gardens

Help me give my students materials to make learning about gardens more hands on.

My Students

My students come from many different backgrounds and come to me with very different experiences. They speak many different languages and have very different educational needs. They come from different kinds of families and different living situations.

My students are coming to school for the first time.

These three to five year olds are eager to learn and engage with their peers. The best part of working with my students is that they all accept and love each other regardless of all their differences.

My Project

Every year we learn about gardens. The preschool students help grow a outdoor garden. They plant, water and weed the garden with care. We would love to have more books to expand our knowledge. These books will provide use with the ability to better understand what is happening under the ground as we begin to explore our garden both inside and outside.

Hands-on garden materials will make the unit so much more accessible to our youngest learners.

They will be able to explore the materials and see what happens when you plant a seed and discover the changes being made to the tiny seed they had planted.
