My Project

I am a gardener who loves to share the wonders of the natural world with my pre-kindergarteners. The joy on a child's face when they harvest and taste their own vegetables, the wonder of exploring insects and animal visitors, and the beauty of a constantly changing environment make the garden the perfect place for children to learn about their world firsthand.

There is nothing we can't learn in the garden, a place where art, science, math, and social studies come together to create the perfect early childhood curriculum.

Installing and planting garden beds in our play yard will create the perfect outdoor garden space in which we can experiment, learn, and grow side by side.

Many of the students at my school come from economically disadvantaged households. Having a space to grow food and learn about the natural world is so important! School gardens also provide great opportunities for family and community involvement. I am excited to begin creating a space with the requested beds, tools, seeds, and gloves where all my students can learn both academic and life skills in the garden.
