Growing Future Farmers: Aquaponics, Soil, & Polyculture Books

Help me give my students books to advance their knowledge in alternative farming, such as aquaponics, restorative soil, and polyculture!

FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Stelljes's classroom raised $400

This project is fully funded

My Project

The books I’m requesting will provide my students with critical knowledge in alternative farming methods like aquaponics, restorative soil practices, and polyculture. These resources will give them the chance to explore sustainable farming techniques that are increasingly important in today’s world. With hands-on activities already part of our curriculum, these books will deepen their understanding, allowing them to connect theory with practice. They’ll also learn innovative approaches that can help combat food insecurity and environmental challenges.

The goal of this project is to foster a passion for sustainable agriculture by giving students the tools to explore creative farming techniques.

By expanding their knowledge base, I aim to inspire them to think critically about how they can apply these methods in their own lives and communities.

My students are special because they come from diverse backgrounds, often underrepresented in fields like agriculture and environmental science. Many of them have never had the opportunity to engage with such specialized knowledge. With these books, I hope to ignite their curiosity and provide them with the skills they need to pursue future careers in these important areas.
