This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Reading books helps kids be able to put themselves in someone else's shoes and they can learn so much about skills like anger management. No child wants to feel out of control and not be successful but some of them lack the skills to handle their big emotions. These materials will be useful to help students develop self-regulation skills and be more successful in their relationships with friends and in learning.

Small group social skill instruction helps kids get direct help with skills that they have not been able to pick up through regular modeling.

Activities that teach them skills and strategies to increase their distress tolerance will help change not only their skills, but help them feel more successful at school and in the community.
