Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our students are diverse and they all strive to be "civic-minded leaders, accomplished writers, and resilient lifelong learners."
Becoming accomplished lifelong learners means that students must be exposed to a variety of quality literature from a variety of authors and engage in meaningful texts, both fiction and nonfiction.
In order to foster a love of reading, we fill our classroom library with engaging stories and nonfiction texts written by and featuring diverse humans.
Our nonfiction texts will allow students to engage with content they may otherwise not have an interest in. And our new fiction additions allow for a variety of genres and characters students can connect with and build their love of reading!
