This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In the Music classroom, ukuleles are great instruments to teach rhythm, melody, and solo/improvisation. They also actively engage students in creating and performing music. My students show a great passion for learning instruments and deserve the opportunity to learn the ukulele.

Most elementary schools in the ASD currently have a class set of ukuleles, but our school does not.

Although students would have to share, 12 quality ukuleles is a great start.

Students light up when using classroom instruments- I can't wait to see their faces when they see 12 new ukuleles! I would love to see my 5th grade students playing ukuleles at our spring concert this year!
