My Students

My classroom is a diverse inclusive classroom of low-income students aged 3 to 5. For most of my students, this is their first learning experience. All of our students receive free breakfast and lunch at school. We are located in the inner city of Pittsburgh and provide a free comprehensive program that is designed to nurture and support each child as we prepare them to transition to kindergarten.

My students are very interested in learning about letters, math social studies, engineering, and science, and enjoy exploring with technology.

They are dreamers, thinkers, and questioners and love to discover new things about the world around them. Despite the challenges they face they come to school each day ready to work and play with smiles and positive attitudes.

My Project

My students need games and activities that focus science, math, and engineering as well as manipulatives to explore with at Learning Center time. Our students will use these materials to explore and grow their abilities through building and exploring. Building roller coasters and exploring how to make objects move easier will help to develop problem-solving abilities and encourage creative thinking. Using magnets and learning about magnetic fields and magnetism will help to expand those critical thinking skills and allow hands-on learning. They will be able to use these manipulatives during our whole group and small group time.

Your generous donation to our project will improve our Pre-K classroom by allowing the students to move forward and learn.
