Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I have a class of eight bright, strong willed, and curious students. We are a Special Education class, which means we learn a little different than others and require different items to make learning possible.
My students thrive on hands on and interactive learning and they love to learn using materials that have texture, make music, and have lots of color.
My students are always on the lookout for something that keeps their hands busy! The items on the project list are essential and will ensure we have the materials required to learn and play. The weighted vests, calming tent and noise canceling headphones will decrease their sensory overload, while the piano keyboards and rhythm music kit will allow them to experience a hands on musical experience. The sensory table will be a great addition to our class, since my students love to feel different textures. The art smocks and canvas will be of great help when it's time to get creative! The pocket chart, pocket chart stand and rings will help for organization in the classroom. The snacks will be a sweet reward treat for our end of the week parties!
