My Students

My children in my classroom are from a rural county . Our county, like many counties surrounding it, is majorly stricken by poverty caused by unemployment, broken homes, and drug use. For example, some of the children are from a single-family household, foster care, living with their grandparents, from a working family, or have a disability in learning. I worry that the children in my classroom don’t get the attention they need in their homes. None of the less, these children love school. My students come in every day ready to learn, play, and interact with other students their age. This is an awesome opportunity that I am privileged to provide. I believe each child, no matter where or in what conditions each live, deserves the opportunity to learn, communicate, and develop a great imagination. Early childhood is the time for all children to develop and learn through play, and social interaction with other children.

My Project

By using an incubator, LED Light Egg Candler Tester and life cycle supplies to be able to study the life cycle of eggs. They will have the opportunity to discover how heat and moisture can bring life into an egg. They can watch with amazement to see a baby chick hatching from an egg to live out its life in the world. I would also like to use the life cycle sequencing kit to introduce them to different life cycles in nature. They can use this kit to learn the names and sequences of events in the life cycles. For example, we studied the life cycle of a butterfly this year and they would be able to coincide this experience with the kit. Using these materials my students would be able to develop more advanced concepts in their cognitive and psychological thinking with hands on experience. The life cycle concept thus is useful in multiple fields. This subject helps students to grasp knowledge within all areas of learning. For example, improving language skills, and also assisting students to think creatively.
