This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We have started cultivating a school garden! Students are learning about the importance of their work by collaborating to make our garden come alive as a place of learning, exploration, and sustainability.
By funding this project, my students will be able to see how they can create something amazing while developing spatial awareness, problem-solving skills, and a deeper connection to the natural world.
We’ll blend reading, writing, science, and math as we go through the process of expanding our garden, integrating composting to enrich the soil and support a more sustainable ecosystem.
The raised beds will give students hands-on experience in growing food from seeds, maximizing our garden space, and understanding the farm-to-table journey. The garden decorations will add a touch of whimsy, and the bulb planter will make it easier to plant our fall bulbs. Thanks to these materials, we’re excited to keep growing and continuing to bring life to our garden!
