My students need a wide selection of books that will allow them to grow and develop as budding readers. As one child grows out of a book, another child grows into it!

My Students

Please help me build a library in my first grade classroom!

My first grade class will be thirsty for the wondrous adventures that come from learning to read - please help me spark their lifelong love of reading.

As a dedicated teacher my goal is to foster a love for reading by providing my students a wide variety of books to read. First grade is when most children learn how to read. In order to keep up with the rapid progression of this new and exciting skill, we need an array of high-interest books that will keep them coming back for more.

My Project

As a new first grade teacher, my collection of books is lacking in titles that meet the needs of budding readers. Children need to begin by reading books that are interesting and engaging, yet challenging and manageable. I have requested a selection of books that fill the gaps in my library.

Every child deserves the opportunity to find what inspires him or her.

Reading Workshop encourages a love of reading and gives individual students the support they need. The ultimate goal is to create a life-long passion for reading. In order to successfully implement this program, we need to have a leveled classroom library so students can select books that are “just right” for their interests and abilities.

My goal is to build a community of readers, but we don’t have enough books to help them! Please make a donation to our class today.
