My Project
We are looking to provide an opportunity for our students to get involved with their environment while also learning life-skills they can take into their adulthood about planting, tending, and caring for their own raised bed gardens. In a small town like ours, it can be hard to have access to fresh produce, and we are hoping we can showcase not only how easy it is to foster and raise your own in a garden, but also the intrinsic feeling of pride that comes from eating and sharing that produce.
We are hoping to foster a love of the planet by allowing our kids to get dirty!
Kids will have the opportunity to see how composting, re-using seeds, and incorporating fresh produce into meals is good for not only their own bodies and mins, but also for the planet. They will watch the process, witness, firsthand, how the climate impacts their plants, and learn how best to feed, and tend their gardens for the best produce
