Help me give my students rewards for their effort in distance learning that will keep them physically active like a Ninja Warrior course and backyard games.

My Students

My students face many challenges. Many of my students have experienced trauma that has impacted their social/emotional well-being.

The added trauma, brought on by the Coronavirus Pandemic, is another hurdle for them right now.

The impacts of this trauma can be seen in their hesitation to engage in distance learning.

My classroom is a lively, collaborative place where students are encouraged to take risks and grow their brains every day with the support of everyone in our class. This is much more challenging when students are at home away from their support group. When they are away from their learning environment, their confidence to take risks is diminished. My hope is to get them engaged in our Google Classroom environment, so that they can reconnect with their support system.

My Project

I have the resources and tools to teach my students at home during the pandemic. It's easy to keep them engaged in learning when we are at school together. I can give them encouraging words, adjust my instruction, or just offer a hug or smile when they need it. It is much more difficult when we are in 30 different homes.

Help me offer incentives for my students to learn at home!

Your donation will allow me to buy some more amazing prizes to offer my students who put forth effort to continue their learning at home by completing assignments on Google Classroom or the paper packets of work that has been sent to them. Students who complete their work will be able to earn these awesome prizes. The added benefit of completing their work on Google Classroom is that they will reconnect with their support system and this will help them improve their social/emotional well-being.

My students love to play outside! Prizes like a NInja Warrior Course will help meet their emotional and physical needs during this trying time. The backyard games will promote interaction with their families and improve their hand-eye coordination. These prizes will encourage my students to work toward a goal. This is an important life skill.
