The Explorers class at our school is like no other. They are an inquisitive, curious and energetic group of 21 fabulous students. They love to learn and even more, they love to learn outside! ECO (Educating Children Outdoors) is one of their favorite subjects and they look forward to it all week.

We are also really enjoying our new STEAM initiative this year at our school. We are working hard to incorporate science, technology, engineering, arts and math into various parts of our school day.
We are located in a small school setting in the heart of the green mountains.
My Project
In our class, we spend a lot of time outside in nature. Education goes far beyond what can happen within the walls of a school however, we do need to spend time inside the classroom as well. Please help us enjoy the natural world even while inside! The items listed directly connect with our animal studies and would allow us to enjoy viewing them right from our window! Not only would your donation provide our students with the opportunity to take responsibility for feeding and caring for our wild animals, but they will be able to observe and research them as well.
Our school is located in a beautiful rural setting and we are lucky enough to be able to utilize our space to learn about nature!
Our class is currently learning about bats and specifically the four species that are native to Vermont. We hope to build houses to provide shelter for some of our endangered night friends. We will be learning about animal adaptations this winter and how some animals store and eat food all winter long while some hibernate and migrate. In the spring we will be researching pollination and ways that we can support our pollinators. Your donation will help us with a full year of learning! THANK YOU!
