Grow and Flow: a Hands-on Garden Science Adventure

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
These specific items will be used by my students to creatively to support a garden science program through hands-on activities. The succulents and fertilizer will teach plant biology, water conservation, and adaptation to dry environments. The chicken wire will be used to build plant supports, and trellises, or protect plants from animals. The river rocks will be used for drainage demonstrations, preventing soil erosion, or decorating the garden. The paint, markers and crayons will be used by students to create garden signs and decorate pots or rocks, blending art and sciences.
The goal of this garden science project is to teach my students about plant biology, environmental sustainability, and hands-on gardening skills while fostering creativity and collaboration.
This project combines science, art, and environmental education, helping students understand plant growth, ecosystems, and conservation through experiential learning.
