Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are from a very impoverished area where the needs are great. I am requesting a Science Kit, colorful sidewalk chalk, dinosaurs, Phonemic Awareness Activities to use during grouping to keep my students busy while i am attending another group. I am asking for outside equipment such as foam footballs and jump rope.
Searching for creative ways to keep my students entertained while going from group to another group is a challenge I have yet to master.
I find that my students are more challenged when they are manipulating objects and trying to figure out what goes where and how it fits in . They enjoy manipulative that they have to conjoin together or take away from such as the Science experiment kit and the Phonemic Awareness Activity kit. I received a picture word bingo game this year that has really empowered my Spanish speakers and I am very thankful for.
My students love Science of Reading and Math because it allows them to think beyond the experiments or challenge at hand. The Science experiment book sampling will be exactly what they need when I am trying to navigate from one group in the afternoon with my Math group that really need extensive help.
My students are awesome and creative when challenged. Please be a part of my students venture throughout this year.
