My students need large tables to work at and a student work organizer to store away their daily work.

My Students
I teach a fourth grade and fifth grade multi-age classroom at an urban school district in Washington. Many students at our school come from low socioeconomic backgrounds and need all of the resources they can get at school!
I am a sixth year teacher needing some help to equip my classroom with tables to work on instead of our current desks.
With a new model that our school is shifting to for next year, I will have two classes (morning and afternoon). Desks take up a lot of necessary space and students will not be able to store things in their desks. I think switching to group tables will be a better fit for the needs of our class structure!
My Project
In this project, I have requested two different furniture pieces that will make our classroom flow and work so much better with the new set up for next year. I will be teaching math and social studies for two blocks - this means that I will have about 30 students in the morning and 30 students in the afternoon. The current desks that we have now take up too much space and students will not be able to store their things inside the desks. I believe that changing to a table group atmosphere where students are using shared table group supplies and freely move around the classroom rather than be tied down at their desk will be a better fit for our model.
The other item I have asked for is a student work organizer. Because students will not have their desks, their work will have to be stored in a separate area. This organizer will be perfect for students to store their materials and belongings and keep it all organized!
Thank you for reading about this project and for considering helping our classroom get new tables!
I am looking forward to a new set up where students will build more of a sense of community with shared supplies and shared work areas! Thank you!
