This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students love coming to counseling and participating in teen discussions with their peers. Part of my services is conducting restorative counseling circles to address conflict. I am giving my office a total make-over with plenty of green grass, plants, and lights.
Students will feel welcomed and have a place that serves as an oasis.
This will help them to decompress and be ready to return to class. Having a restorative circle in an environment that looks clean, uncluttered, and has nature elements will up-lift their emotional state. The green grass panels, plants, and lights will give the students an unforgettable welcoming and nurturing environment.
Students need a place that serves as a haven. I want to create an environment that is inclusive and inviting. This environment will nurture students to be able to return to the classroom and continue learning.
