My Project
My 7th and 8th grade students are just starting year four of our school garden. Students work in the garden as a part of their science classes. Each year students plan out their raised beds along with companion plants that they want to grow together.
My students need compost to top off our existing raised beds and fill some newly added beds. Once the compost is loaded into the beds, they can begin the planting process in early May. We study in the garden focusing on plant science, soil science, the nitrogen cycle, food webs, the energy pyramid, and more.
