Gross Motor Equipment

My students need gross motor supplies to help all my students, including my special needs students, the ability to increase their large muscles for balance and motor control.

My Students

I teach in a low economic school with diverse students. I have students who are special needs, limited English proficiency, and various educational backgrounds. I have students from Mexico, Cuba, and Malaysia. The cultures make my classroom a wonderful environment but also includes some educational challenges as this age level does not receive ESL services. Every student is eager to learn, but limited resources sometimes makes teaching difficult. I love coming to work each day but would like to give my students every opportunity possible.

My Project

My students need the opportunity to use tricycles and other gross motor equipment to help develop their large muscles to help improve their balance and control of movement. I work in a low-economic area in Louisville, Kentucky and our budget is very low. The tricycles we have now are broken and/or old and rusted and the children are unable to ride them.

I have a classroom of 20 students and several special needs students.

This equipment will benefit my students in so many ways. This particular set of equipment includes tricycles and other vehicles to improve their muscle control. There are also helmets and traffic signs that will also involve other curriculum to the playground.

Thank you in advance for helping my students improve their physical needs as well as their educational needs.
