Help me give my students new items for real life play and learning
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Puente's classroom raised $706

My Project
I am currently teaching an Autistic classroom and trying to add a new work system in the classroom. Having these items in the classroom can help the students to work on everyday life skills while also working on their addition and subtraction goals. The students are working on life skills. I am working on having my students be more informed in real-life situations. Trying to put together a small shopping center in my classroom so students can practice real-life events. Working on putting together different foods and coming up with the amounts to pay for them. Being able to take groups of students in this area would be a major benefit. Working with them to help work through the math of paying for your groceries or working through your grocery list to make sure you are able to buy everything you need. Working through the knowledge of having twenty dollars to go to the store to buy some fruit. Being able to look at all of the food items and add them together. Making sure that you have enough money with you to pay for what is needed on your list. Also working on communication with my students. The student who is cashier is in charge of counting the money and telling the student how much they owe. Being able to receive a list and shop for all of the items that are included. Working in the shop as the cashier to make sure your customers have enough money for the items that they will buy. Working on everyday life skills of being able to shop independently and pay for their food by themselves using the everyday functions of math.
