Grocery Cart Math Night

My Project

"Grocery Cart Math Night" is an educational event where high school students and elementary students and their families engage in math activities while grocery shopping at a local grocery store in our community. It transforms abstract math into a real-world application, making it more fun and memorable for students.

Math Night encourages students and their families to participate in math learning together, fostering a supportive learning environment.

This event involves using store flyers, scavenger hunts, and other activities to make math concepts like budgeting, comparing prices, and understanding discounts.

Students will be given a math worksheet based on their grade level. They will complete the math worksheet in the following departments: produce section, bakery, dairy, baking aisle, canned goods aisle, and snack aisle. Students will be given a Math Certificate and a treat bag once the worksheet is complete.
