Greeting Cards 101!

My students need a Cricut machine and other art supplies to begin creating their own greeting cards and adding creativity to their art projects.

My Students

I have the privilege of working with a small group of special education students with very individual needs. My classroom is a functional academic classroom in an urban district. In my class, students work on academics, life skills, art projects, vocational skills, and transition skills. My students have the ability to attend activities in the community (such as dining out, taking the city bus, shopping, etc) to assist with their learning of critical life skills.

My students are motivated to try new things.

Students enjoy working on a variety of vocational and transition activities to prepare them to participate fully in their community after high school graduation.

My Project

The materials I requested will help students explore possibilities when making greeting cards. These cards would then be distributed among each other, families, other teachers and school personnel for holidays or birthdays or even sold in the school store, which my students currently run.

Students will be excited to use the new materials and make a project of their own!

A Cricut machine in the classroom will also incorporate technology while students navigate the software for creating Cricut projects.

Students would also be learning a new vocational skill of operating a machine that has the potential to increase their ability to raise funds for programs or for the classroom.
