Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

I work at a school where our classrooms are based on experiences they may not get at home. I am responsible for setting up the Greenhouse experience room at our school. Each student will have the opportunity to enjoy and learn about what plants need to grow and live. The greenhouse will give the students a hands-on learning experience. Students will be engaged in the process of planting and watering their own plants.

According to an article from CityParent, "a greenhouse is great for a child's development.

It stimulates all of their senses and it teaches them responsibility."

Adding a greenhouse to our experience room will provide a space for our students to grow plants indoors in a more fun and exciting way despite the weather.

This special gift will greatly be appreciated and well used by students.
