Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students consist of 1st and 3rd grade gifted students. This project will service my 1st and 3rd grade gifted classes. Some students do not have access to the internet at home and our class technology is limited. We have district mandated work that is to be completed weekly, but our lack of technology makes it quite difficult. My students are extremely bright, but lack the tools to prove it without technology to show how much they have accomplished to our district!

Our class has two computers and therefore, not enough children have access to technology on a weekly basis to complete district requirements and enrichment activities.

The students will be able to use this laptops to enrich their math, science and social studies skills! These laptops will also motivate my students to start and complete their assignments in class. The laptops will change our classroom in a myriad of ways!

My Project

Our Green Team is in dire need of technology at our fingertips! We only have two computers in our class, this does not allow each child time to access assigned work and use computers during centers time. We also need a copy machine, so that I can copy homework and letters that keep open communication between home and school!

Besides for assigned work and centers, the laptops will also be used as a reward system to keep my students on task!

We have a district program called "Values Matter" and a school-wide one called, "Courteous Me", where there are 9 values: citizenship, cooperation, fairness, honesty, integrity, kindness, pursuit of excellence, respect and responsibility. Both are correlated to values that help form good citizens of tomorrow! Students who demonstrate these characteristics will earn time on the laptops!
