My Students
In a neighborhood where violence is an everyday part of life, school becomes so much more than just a place to learn. The students in my classroom recognize the value of an education as a means to a positive future and, hopefully, someday a safer community, as well.
Our students are English Language Learners in an urban neighborhood.
School is their safe haven and a place where they can focus on a positive future. They are eager to learn and take pride in the investment of others in their education.
My Project
My students are English Language Learners. Performance arts is an amazing way to practice their speaking skills. Introducing a green screen kit to the classroom would allow them to take these performance tasks and readers theater activities digital. Being able to express their creativity through performance and taped productions would be amazing for motivation and speaking practice. They already love to use Flipgrid, a green screen kit will allow for even more creative collaborative projects. This kit would also be vital in showing them how the skills they are learning can have real-world applications, production is such an intriguing STEAM job that I know would draw the interest of so many of my students!!!
