This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am an eighth grade middle school math teacher in a high needs NYC school. My students enjoy using technology and the Internet to complete math tasks. If you provide my students with a classroom all in one printer, copier, scanner I will be able to create more technology rich assignments.

My students work hard and often support their mothers and fathers by running household errands and watching younger siblings.

Unfortunately, another thing that my students have in common is that their families are struggling financially. Within my school the majority of the students qualify for the state's free or reduced meal program. Due to the budget cuts schools are facing, teachers in my school are no longer able to personally give each student the resources they desire.

My Project

I am requesting a HP all-in-one printer in hopes that it will inspire students to become green and conserve paper. With your help, I would be able to scan worksheets and post them on a wiki page for them to download. I could encourage technology use and build application awareness. We need a classroom scanner, copier, printer to make this dream a reality. Students will also be able to take complete assignments home after printing them out to remind them of their academic successes.

Picture a room full of enthusiastic teenagers, eager to learn, and presenting quality work to be documented, published and freshly printed.

They will be inspired to produce quality work and proud to share their finish projects. Enabling the students to make use of the technology within our school their can lead to a love of learning. With your help, they will be able to conserve paper by scanning worksheets and printing only final projects.
