My Students

My students attend school in an urban city that is diverse and cultural. Our particular school, one out of 11 elementary schools in our district, is an example of a true neighborhood school, with a sprinkle of two programs, special education and bilingual, that attract students from other areas of the city.

Giving my students opportunities to show off their mathematics skills is a priority!

They are energetic and excited about learning math, and they strive to succeed in everything they do!

My Project

My students are a part of a community that is very in tune to their successes academically and socially. One of the ways this happens is the way student achievement is honored and recognized.

My students' academic achievement is driven by their ownership of materials and routines in the classroom.

The mini crates, folders, and hanging file folders will be used to organize each of my students' work during Guided Math Workshop. They will have access to their folder throughout the class period and be able to return their folders to the crate when the class is done. The green binders will be used at each of the students' workstations for resources and references they may need to complete the task. The magnetic board will be our central visual for all that is happening in the class for the day. The organizer cart will hold all of our Guided Math Workstation games made with the astrobright paper. And finally, the markers, colored pencils, and crayons will be used throughout the year during numerous activities that will showcase my students' creativity!
