My Project
At our alternative high school, we do learning a little differently. Instead of having a stand-alone English or social studies class, we embed learning into thematic workshops.
This year I'll be teaching literacy and social studies through a class about Greek mythology.
Students will earn high school English and social studies credit through a variety of assignment and projects based on Greek mythology.
Students need to have access to high quality and engaging reading opportunities and that's what I hope to accomplish with this project by providing both a fiction option (The Lightning Thief) and a non-fiction option (Treasury of Greek Mythology) for students to read.
