Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are a first-grade class in a Spanish dual-immersion school. My students are from two different classes that get instruction in English for half the day and in Spanish the other half.

I want to give my students every opportunity to succeed!

Students are presented with so many challenges in their lives, and my goal as their teacher is to ignite them with a passion for learning and give them the power to overcome any challenge that comes their way!

My Project

After nearly two years of major interruptions to student learning, it can be a challenge to motivate some students to engage each day, to say the least. I don't want any of my students to fall further behind than they already have!

Students learn best when they are engaged and excited!

For that reason, I am requesting a multitude of supplies for my classroom store--students can earn prizes for their participation each day. Things like fun erasers, stickers, pencils, treats, small fidget toys, poppits and the like really get these second graders up in their seats with their attention forward! I will run the store with the toy cash register. STEM activities also get them interested, so I have requested some fun STEM supplies like Lego sets, magnetic building toys, and STEM Master building toys. I have also added to this project some classroom supplies like storage bins and binder holders, timers, and tape. This project will give us so much of what we need!
