Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are amazing, hardworking individuals. Healthy snacks such as granola bars, cookies, and fruit snacks will give them the energy they need to stay focused in class, whether before or after lunch.
Many of my students come from low-income households or single-parent families.
While their parents do everything they can to provide extra snacks, it’s not always possible. That’s where these snacks make a difference. When students’ stomachs are full, their minds are free to concentrate, learn, and continue on the path toward being college-ready.
The healthy bars will provide long-lasting energy, cookies offer a quick boost to help students push through the day, and fruit snacks give a sweet yet nourishing option to keep them engaged. Having access to these snacks means students won’t be distracted by hunger and will be better able to participate, complete assignments, and remain attentive during lessons.
The goal of this project is to ensure that every student has the fuel they need to succeed academically. By reducing hunger in the classroom, I hope to increase focus, participation, and confidence. Ultimately, my aim is to create a supportive learning environment where students can thrive, reach their full potential, and stay on track toward being college and career ready.
