Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are very special. Besides some of them being special needs students, my class of 23 students are all truly unique. Everyday presents a colorful day of learning something new about my students as well as different challenges.

Some of my students are too sensitive, hyperactive, aggressive, inattentive and self-directed.

However, each child has a key which I strive to discover because it is the only way to motivate and encourage my students to learn. My school has a high poverty rate and is located in a low-income community. Learning is an experience that is new for many of them, since they are young kindergartners.

My Project

The resources that I kindly request will benefit my classroom tremendously. I have a myriad of different learners, including below-level, on-level, and students who are above-level in reading and/or math. Since I have been given an important responsibility to ignite a passion to learn many skills and academics in school, I consider it a privilege to be given this opportunity. I am currently struggling in creating exciting reading, phonics and math centers for my students. The resources I have requested will invite all my different types of students to learn and develop academically, including auditory, tactile and visual learners. The availability of these resources will also hasten the production of learning materials for centers and lessons in the classroom. These include using the laminating machine, laminating paper.

Everyone needs to be motivated in order to do something.

Students as young as my kindergarteners do not see the benefit of learning unless it is fun and engaging. Especially since, living in a low-income community, even their caregivers cannot afford to purchase most of these learning resources. These resources will encourage my students to enjoy academics. My students will become more independent learners as they explore their centers. Thank you for your time and help.
