Great Graphic Novels for Great Readers

Help me give my students fresh graphic novels to develop a love of reading!

My Project

I have been given the wonderful opportunity to teach fourth graders. My students are unique, loving, witty, and passionate. They have a variety of learning needs and interests.

I am lucky to teach students who love to learn.

Each child comes from a different background, but most come from a low-social economic environment. They love to learn and enjoy exploring the world around them.

My students love many fiction series books including Diary of a Wimpy Kid and graphic novel series like Dog Man. These books are always getting checked out in the school library and often times my students have to wait to checkout the next book in the series. Having these books available in our classroom library will allow them to have access to them and keep their reading going!

Reading a book series lets a student build their comprehension about characters, setting, plot, and so much more!

Reading also become social when students can share what they're reading with classmates who are also reading the same series and they can recommend new books to each other! This allows for more engagement, builds vocabulary, and creates a classroom of students who love to read!
