My Project
The books on this list represent so much more than just a reading list. These books are a way to connect the children in the rural community I serve to the rest of the state. The Red Clover Book Award and the Golden Dome Book Award are voted on by students across the state of Vermont after they read these books. My students have never had a chance to participate in this program before and I want to introduce it to them.
Students in rural areas deserve the same educational opportunities as students across the state. By exposing students to quality literature, we provide both windows and mirrors into the lives of others, to affirm and expand students' experiences.
